The Strand Shopping Centre is one of the best venues on the Isle of Man to promote your Company.

With around 35,000 people per week (rising to over 70,000 people at Christmas) - the centre should be on your advertising and marketing schedule.  There are various locations through out the centre - the most popular being on the ground floor underneath the escalators.  With the new entrance doors now installed the centre can be used to promote larger product like car launches.

 

The cost for hire starts from just £75 plus VAT per day for the ground floor and £50 per day plus VAT for the first floor. The centre can also be hired for private functions during the evenings and is suitable for fashion shows, wine tasting, murder mystery events and musical performances.

Hospice - June 14

Please can you pass on our thanks to your wonderful staff who were working at the Strand on Saturday.  The Security Guard couldn't do enought to help us out.  From makin gsure we had enough table and chairs and helping load all our stuff,  he really was wonderful.

The Card Factory Manager was just lovely help us out with our balloons and offering us tea and coffee.

Drugs Advice Service and Helpline - May 2013

On behalf of the staff and voluneers at DASH, I am witing to thank you for letting us use The Strand Shopping Centre for our Star Wars themed fund raising event on Saturday 4th May.

The amount raised from this event was £227.75, which will go towards our work with families affected by drug use in the Isle of Man

The Rob Vine Fund

Thank you very much for allowing our collecting buckets to be displayed in the Strand Shopping Centre during TT 2012.  I'm pleased to be able to inform you that G4S have now banked the sum of £254.66 to The Rob Vine Fund.  

The money will go towards updating some of our medical equipment for the TT course, our two ambulances and the rescus helicopters for the 2012/13 season, as well as providing training for all the medics.

Hospice Isle of Man - May 2012          

I am writing to say Thank you very much for your help and support throughout Children’s Hospice Week 2012, in aid of Rebecca House. The generosity received from both companies and individuals has been overwhelming and we are extremely grateful to all those who have been involved.

This year has seen the Rebecca House Team organise, co-ordinate and run the events with support from the Fundraising Team and it has been an amazingly successful week.

To date, we have raised over £13,000 with more money coming in daily.

Age Concern: October 2011
Age Concern’s main fund raiser this year was raffling a brand new car. We found it hard to find a suitable venue that would provide us with the much needed sales to make our promotion a success. The Strand Shopping Centre was an ideal venue, plenty of foot fall and a wonderful exhibition space. The support we received from John, Louise and their team was exceptional. They helped us set up, guided us on how to present the car and we felt as though they were part of our team.

THE SAMARITANS 24/7 - SUNDAY 24 JULY 2011

 Just to say many thanks for letting us spend the day in The Strand on Sunday.  If you could say thank you to the gentleman that helped us set up, he was very helpful.  

 

We spent the day giving away balloons and leaflets on Samaritans, we were rarely without someone to talk to throughout the day, which kept us busy!

MINI PARISH WALK - SUNDAY 19TH JUNE 2011

June 2011 - The Angigua Tall Ship

This is just a short letter to thank you both for all the wonderful assistance you gave us during the visit of the tall ship 'Antigua', we do know that it was an extremely busy period for you, however, your cheerful and very helpful approach in becoming involved with the 'Antigua' and running the competition which gave us wonderful exposure has ensured that a lot of our Isle of Man resident and many TT visitors had an opportunity to experience the joy of sailing on one of these gracious tall ships from a bygone era.

DHSS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS DAY - Saturday 9th October 2010  Angela, thank you to you and your colleagues at the Strand. Everyone was very helpful from start to finish. Prior to the event the level of communication was excellent as was the service. On the day  security  were very helpful,  and helped with putting out the tables and display boards. They also checked that things were ok throughout the day.

BOWEL CANCER ISLE OF MAN - 24TH APRIL 2010

Dear John & Angela I know you will be delighted to hear that we managed to collect over £1,000 last weekend. This was undoubtedly due in no small part to your assistance and permitting the event to be staged in such an easily accessible position in the Strand. I have received some very positive feedback from visitors to our display - from all ages and backgrounds. It was a great coincidence that the BBC should run a story yesterday about a new type of screening for bowel cancer which they believe will result in the prevention of tumours developing in many cases. Needless to say I have written to the Minister with this information and look forward to hearing how they plan to find the money for its introduction in due course, but I won't hold my breath. Anyway, thank you both once again for supporting our Awareness Weekend - it was very much appreciated by all the committee.

MANX OPERATIC SOCIETY
On behalf of the Manx Operatic Society I would like to thank the Strand Shopping Centre for allowing us to promote our next production, “Hot Mikado”.  Both Angela and John have yet again proved their passion and dedication to the Stand Centre customers by allowing us to promote our show and thus creating a reciprocal business venture to provide customers that extra commitment. The team at the Strand were extremely supportive, professional and above all friendly in assisting the Society from start to finish which proved to be a great asset to our ticket sales and awareness of Hot Mikado.  I can honestly say that it is fantastic to see a team as dedicated to their customers which made the promotion so much more enjoyable; some customers were actually dancing along whilst entering the centre, and how many other centres could brag that?  To summarise; I would certainly not hesitate in recommending the Strand Shopping Centre for not only a great shopping experience but also for any reciprocal marketing / promotional support as they are just what the Island needs.


 
ISLE OF MAN CHILDRENS CENTRE - 6th March 2010
We had a very successful and fun day last Saturday collecting over £200.  We were made to feel very welcome by all the staff of the Strand Shopping Centre.  John Shakespeare took photos and supported us by entering the raffle and also one of the security guards took photos and to our surprise a Newspaper photographer also turned up.   It was so helpful to be able to set up the step machine on the Friday evening.  Thanks for your help and support of local charities. JAMIE AT HOME - 16th February 2010
I must say a big THANK YOU for all your help with our Jamie Oliver stall on Saturday! It was lovely to talk to you beforehand Angela, you have been such a great help. Thank you for letting your staff know we were coming – they were fabulous.

My Manager Tonia Powell had arrived the previous day to help with our event and we arrived at 9a.m. with a car load of goodies and managed to unload just outside The Strand at the back of the building. The security guys had 2 large tables and some chairs for us and it did’t take long before we were up and running. We displayed the beautiful ‘Jamie At Home’ ranges, we had a banner of Jamie beside our display and the card shop even pumped up our Jamie balloons for us. I’d brought along some A4 posters which we displayed on the doors as you enter the building.

I must say all the staff in the Strand that day were so kind and helpful and we were very well looked after. One of your staff took photo’s of us, which are now on your website with a fabulous write-up – very impressive, thank you so much. Grace came to see us as soon as we arrived and ask if there was anything else we needed; she kept popping back to see how we were doing and if we needed anything else.

Another of my team members’, Sue, joined us in the afternoon and stayed for the rest of the day. Between us we spoke to lots of people and handed out catalogues and leaflets. We were also collecting for the Children’s Centre on the day and managed to raise just over £53.00. We also had a prize of the Anti-pasti Platter which Jamie uses in his Italian restaurant for the Number Squares game we did, and that went to a lady who lives in Broadway, so I’ll be delivering these within the next 2 days.

Apart from the fundraising, our aim was to tell as many people on the Island as possible about the Jamie At Home parties and just make them aware of all the opportunities this brings to the Island. I managed to get 4 party bookings so far from this event and have just received another call from a young lady who’s booked a Jamie Party in her shop on the Quay in Douglas! Please pass on our thanks to everyone who helped to make the day as successful as it was. Best wishes and thanks again.
